I was tired of getting screwed by the dealer and had trouble finding a shop that specializes in MINIs. After reading nothing but positive reviews about Desi Auto Care, I decided to give them a shot. Best decision ever! Not only was everyone I spoke with extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but they repaired my car on time and at nearly half the cost the dealer was going to charge. From my 1st phone call, I made to the time I got my Mini back, they were informative and efficient. I know a little about repairs but not a whole lot and I did not feel any kind pressure to buy more services. The clutch failed on my Mini. Normal wear and tear was the issue. I needed to replace the entire clutch assembly on car with less than 76k miles on it. Desi Auto Care was able to fix my clutch for almost $520 less than the dealers estimate and really saved me from having to purchase a new flywheel which it turns out was totally unnecessary. Mechanic was a pleasure to deal with.

I was recommended to Desi Auto Care by a college friend. I was purchasing a MINI and needed a thorough check done on it. Josh looked at the MINI on very short notice and gave me an in-depth detail. This shop was clean, comfortable waiting room and easy to find on White Horse Pike. The dealership had me in a panic as what I thought would be a major repair cost, turned into a thermostat, some clips and fraction of the cost I paid to Desi. I will definitely be bringing my Mini ("Roxy") back to Desi for all future work!

He did not disappoint me. Desi diagnosed my oil leak was small extremely minor and no need to do anything - though mechanic said if I want, he could stop the leaks 100% for an estimated labor time of 3.5 hours, (since the leak was very tiny and that it was of no adverse effect, I would not take any further decision). He also explained different aspects of maintenance etc. He charged me only 30 min of labor instead of initial quote of one hr - a small thing, but does show their work ethics.

I really liked these mechanics for their helpfulness in practical manner. Before you take your MINI anywhere else, definitely go to this shop for an opinion.

Lately my car started to misfire. After briefly considering the mini-dealer (expensive? Maybe) I took it to Desi Auto Care and for the evaluation. His technician diagnosed a misfire on cylinder #2 and replaced the coil. I found them straightforward and didn’t suggest any additional repair (unlike others).

Running rough, so I figured it might be the starter. Also I wanted an oil change and tune-up.

Desi replaced the starter & performed the oil change. He said that I don’t need a tune-up. He adjusted the idle on my car, cause its running high. Desi Auto Care has been working on my Mini for 3 yrs now. Their service and mechanics are worth the visit.

I like to do small repairs myself, so I replaced the rotors, wheel bearing, and pads. After I had it back together I somehow blew the master cylinder. My test drive turned up a much spongy pedal. Un-willing to bleed the system I realized I must go to shop. My buddy recommended Desi Auto Care so I took my mini down. They seemed to be educated about minis and the shop was presentable.

They showed me it was a master, but also he showed me that my serpentine belt was about to break. Turns out that my bad tensioner pulley. My car having over 143k miles so I'm not surprise. Repair was done promptly.

I took my car in to have maintenance items that happens at 75k miles. I also had some warranty job done. Sam went out of his way to research my warranty to make sure I got maximum coverage. I ended up only paying my deductible. Sam even got me a rental car that I did not know I could possibly get. Guys are personable, no nonsense when it comes to your Mini.

Took my old car in to this shop for a breaking issue. My rotors are Ireland Engineering products, and were badly worn and needed to be replaced. Desi used a special tool to measure the diameter and placed an order to replace the rotors and pads. They arrived on time and work done same day!

My MINI started smoking on a Tuesday, mid-day. I called first thing Wed, Chris said he probably couldn't diagnose/repair until Saturday, but to bring in, just in case (and I must not drive it with overheated engine anyway). Dylan called with a diagnostic of my car and gave me estimate. When cross-referencing in Google, it was fair for the range of repairs on a MINI turbo engine. I was in my car and on my way Friday, a day earlier than he promised.

My side note: Dylan was great (read: patient, helpful) about explaining the repair done on the car, the overall health of the motor, and what may have participated the issue. I felt like service was efficient and my Mini was in knowledgeable hands.

Desi Auto Care goes the very extra mile with your MINI service. Sam has taken really good care of me. Good reviews realized me to try this shop and I will never go anywhere else for my auto repair needs. When getting an oil change, they makes sure everything is working properly (for example tire pressure, air filters, fluids). This crew is very passionate about their work.

I know I’m not a car savvy and my brother kept reminding me that my flashing check engine light wasn’t going away magically- so I took his advice and made an appointment at Desi Auto Care. Chris diagnosed it immediately to avoid further damaging to the catatylic converter. From the office to the technicians, the service was efficient. My car is running fine-no trouble now and I have a reliable shop to go if any other MINI issues happen. High recommend!

Josh will tell you you have about 3 month before a particular thing needs to be replaced etc. This lets me plan my budget. He'll also teach you how to judge yourself when the brakes or tires need to be replaced etc. I took my Mini in about 5 times and never felt ripped off.

I dropped off my car to have them diagnose my Turbocharger issue, could be high risk of fire. Joshua was very thorough with his assessment. I’m very picky with repair shop technicians because of some out there that will give you the run around and up sells you every chance they get. Desi Auto Care team was welcoming and knowledgeable.

He found “O” ring becomes hard and oil line failed because excessive heat from turbocharger was causing oil spraying on hot turbocharger. He replaced inlet and outlet oil lines with latest design. I’m very familiar with all the repairs of my car, and they did not disappoint.

My car was having electrical problems where the battery was being drained overnight. After 4 instances where I had to inconvenience friends to jump start my car, I went to Desi Auto Care. Josh was able to diagnose the issue- the cooling fan was staying on all night. He offered me two options, the 1st being low cost and could possibly fix the issue (changing the battery and updating the computer). The 2nd option was to replace with brand new fan, which turned out to be the case. He could easily have taken advantage of my ignorance, but did not! Then he tested if the car would start the very next day. Upon returning my car, he lent me his battery jumper for the next few days, just in case. They seriously go the extra mile!

My clutch was replaced with original Mini parts. Within 1.5 year the clutch went out and I brought it back to Desi Auto Care.

They replaced the clutch without charge and no questions asked, because they have warranty on all jobs they perform.

Wow-good automotive shop! Was planned to spend significant money for major engine problem and for my problem it ended up being something small and the cost was low. Looking at my car at the Home Depot parking lot with a coolant leak, really at a loss don't know what to do. I called Josh, describing the issue, expecting he will tell me I can limp the car few miles to my home and deal with the issue later on. Since Josh was able to diagnose (over the phone) that the cooling system is not losing a lot of water, he quickly advise me don't try to drive home but to find some water, which I was able to do, and keep fill-up full radiator as I drive the car 4 miles to his shop. He repaired the issue within a few hours, turning out to be a pretty bad day in to a much better day. I can't praise him enough. He's always determined to repair my car accurately. He like to resolve problems for your vehicles. I will never take my Mini to anywhere else ever! I'm a customer here for life.

If you're in the Jersey/Philla area and need your Mini serviced, this is the shop to go. Josh is a friendly guy and gets the repair done perfect. The charges are definitely reasonable and parts quality is original. They do not use cheap parts. Service was fast and painless.

We have been here three times until now (and it's saying a lot!). 1st time was for clutch issue and the 2nd time was for transmission malfunction issue. Both times we have left totally satisfied and happy with the repair done. You won't be disappointed!

I'm always hesitant going to a new mechanic, but the crew at DESI is knowledgeable. Main mechanic took care of me and explained some problems my ride has. I am without significant car knowledge its always uncomfortable discussing with technicians because I feel I’m going to get talked into stuff I don’t need. However, this was not my experience here, lead technician was very knowledgeable about explaining the real conditions of my mini, what are my options, and what he recommended (along with pre-quoted estimate).

I hope to not need them again for a long time, but I will definitely recommend them to my group.

I experienced a major malfunction with my car. While I slowed for merging traffic, immediately the car temperature light turned on afterword it changed to lit engine light. I tried hard to turn the steering wheel few times to attempt to move the car out of traffic lanes to avoid collusion and Mini died. Right away I called for a towing company. I'm new in the area and it's complicated to find professional mechanics that is knowledgeable of their MINI service and personable. Glade to find Desi Auto Care. They do not try to over-sell you and really thinks outside the box to find a real solution. They repaired and secured it as good as new. They will treat you well. Highly recommended.

I lived in locally for two years and had the pleasure of taking my cars here on three times. Kris was straightforward about the issue; the bad throttle response at high ambient temperature to be fix. He called to describe the problems and proposed repairs. I agreed with repairs he suggested. When i came to pick up, he shows me old parts and photos of the job completed. Very much recommend!

I have taken my beloved but aging mini to Desi Auto Care for few years. They do good repair that holds up. When shifting from first in to second year, I heard loud clunk/rattle clicking from inside. Car lost power steering; warning light came on and no control on car. Sam sent me flatbed towing truck. Service was "as good as it gets," means that you get professional service with warranty at a fair price.

New mounts

New coil packs and plugs

Replaced an axle (I thought it was a bearing!!)

I called a few shops and tripped a lil cause my car had an electrical issue, was not turning on and was told it might be totaled. Called Desi Auto Care and they took the car in by appointment, diagnosed and figured out the real cause, luckily it was simple. Sam didn't charge me for it even though we agreed to a diagnosis fee at first, so I'll appreciating the good will and will def follow a similar model in my own Handyman Business.

My check engine LT came on and car was random misfiring. My previous mechanic didn't work on M-Coopers so after a cyber-search I decided to go with Desi Auto Care!

I had to leave my car and next morning Drew was able to diagnose the issue and called-emailed me to get approval before repairing anything. However, I got off work after they closed so he left my key in the car and one of their Desi Auto Care T-Shirt on my passenger seat which was a surprise:) I definitely recommend this place and will be back if my car has any more issue. Finally, I picked up the car and it drove smoothly again.

I wanted to get the computer re-programmed because my windows wouldn’t stay rolled up. I kept putting this repair off because I was told I’d need to take it to the dealer to pay too much money.

I went to Desi Auto Care at my step brother’s suggestion. What a positive experience! I will be back again next time if car needs service.

After the service department at Main Line MINI told me I needed a new clutch and other repairs totaling over $---( for a car that only 32k miles), I brought it here for 2nd opinion. Not only did Chris tell me I didn't need all those repairs, also one repairs Dealer did were wrong (missing fuse)

Chris could have said I needed all those repairs. But he didn't. I need only two things done. Ever since, I drive from Philadelphia area to Stratford because I trust Chris!

If anyone wants MINI repair assessments done right, this is the shop. Straight forward guys and they know exactly what they're doing. Took my car in for transmission issue and check engine warning light. Chris and Andrew explain exactly what the problems is and availability of options. Plus+ when you pick-up your car they will explain in detail what was done to your car with excellent documentation. highly recommend shop!

The phone call came back that it was master, but also they caught I knew that my serpentine belt was almost broken. Turns out that I had a bad tensioner pulley. My MINI Cooper having over 168K miles I was not surprised. The job was done promptly and professionally. Also when I got it back MINI it was very clean and running better than ever.

It was also nice that be able to observe as Andrew inspected my car, so I knew what he was doing. It is so unlike being at the dealer where you have no idea what they did. I can't recommend Desi-folks highly enough.

I recently had an ignition coil fail. They had replaced it 23 months prior, and it turned out that the part was faulty. The part was replaced, labor and everything completely covered "free of charge." A dealer would never do that, especially 23 months after the original service.

Most shops will warranty work for 90 days at most. Desi Auto Care's commitment (2yrs warranty) to customer service is fantastic. This is the shop to take your cooper.

When you work with Desi, there is no frills, no BS, and he commands respect. He knows his stuff and is very friendly. He wouldn't let me put anything but OEM parts in my car, and while it's expensive, it's definitely the right way to do it. I'd have no qualms about bringing any cars here. I thought I had a dead windshield wiper motor that would cost $265+ labor to fix.... until Desi’s mechanic ran a diagnostic and discovered it was only a faulty cover board. Looks like I’ve found a new shop to bring my MINI. Leslie in the office desk was great, too. Their appointments book up fast.

My regular shop guy said he didn't do this kind oil leak work so I asked a social media group for recommendation. Two names came up but I chose Desi. So glad I did. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to Mini's. I was very relaxed that he wasn't just trying to make a buck.

I hope I don't have to see him anytime soon. But if and when I do need repair done he will be on the top of my list.

Car wasn’t starting I’m here to replace the power module replaced (This until disturbed power to the entire system) somehow this unit had water penetrate it and I had the unit replaced and also mechanic vacuumed up water and made it super clean! Very happy with courteous service!

Came here based on reviews and I'm glad I did. Receptionist Emily out front and Andrew who talked to me about everything he found and seemed to have the customer's interest in mind. Brought my car in at 9am and was able to pick it up at 11am the next day, so just be prepared to not have a car for a day or so while he figure it out. Ended up only getting three of the services he recommended and he respected my decision and helped me get what I needed which I always appreciate. Even had me come back for a free follow up after I got everything tuned.

I'm a huge petrol head and i will not let anybody buy them repair job on my car, especially not a dealership.

Needed major work on my car. My property manager recommended Desi Auto. He stayed open a little later when I dropped my car off to make sure I found his shop and to just introduce himself since I was a new customer. He took time to understand what my car issues are and didn't try to up-sell me.

He even saved some of the transmission fluid to help me visualize the difference between the old fluid and new. I will keep coming here long... time.

I recently acquired a Mini. Not in bad shape but needed some TLC and sprucing up. I took it to four shops, most of them hemmed and hawed and gave me outrageous quotes for simple tasks, it was clear they didn't want the job. Chris stepped right up, gave me reasonable quotes, and did excellent quality job.

Plus, they are friendly, the property is clean and neat, and overall a very enjoyable customer experience. I also have 2001 BMW 350i, this will be my go-to guys for all my mechanical work going forward.

Shawn explained things well and didn't talk down to me at all. He gave me estimate, after explaining that he would prefer to do less work on my car than more, until we all know if it's even worth the expense and even did a couple little extras. Like: there was a break light out that Shawn repaired with my permission, I expected a charge for it but he didn't. Plus, I said I needed a new driver side motor for the window. He pointed out that it was simply stuck and he un-stuck it!! Yeah, you heard that right! Saved me $195 on something I was willing to pay for. Thanks!

I had a failure of my blower (defroster) fan which made it impossible for me to safely travel through the storms as I had planned for family visit. He had the problem isolated in 20 minutes, a list of other issues he suggest I took into and the blower repaired in a few hours - with no advance appointment. also got a courtesy ride to to nearest Burger king with my downtime. Hats off guys! I'm looking forward to bringing my Mini back in for the rest of the recommended work so I can be incident free!

I had my car diagnosed by a MINI Dealer in Bala Cynwyd PA. I told them I needed my CV Boot fixed and they charged me $150 for a full diagnostic. The results were I needed the CV Boot repaired and the engine oil gasket, spark plugs and engine coil. The cost of the CV Boot would cost $412. The other stuff cost roughly $1150. I was not sure with their cost and decided to get a 2nd opinion. i took it to Desi Auto Care and re-diagnosed it there. Anthony helped me through process.

His diagnosis:

1. Engine Timing Issue

2. No Brakes

CV Boot with an option of switching out the full axel to take care of the whole problem VS a piece metal option.

He advised me on which problems to tackle 1st, so I went with his recommendation. I got #1 and #2 fixed and working towards the CV Boot. " To give real service you must add something that cannot be bought or measured with dollars, and that is sincerely and integrity". His team lives this. I'm not sure why dealership didn't find these things, but I'm pissed for spending $150 at dealer.

I l live in Salem County, but heard good things about this niche MINI specialist shop. The service was very professional and I got a great deal on my overall service. Anthony walked me through the entire process and even showed me where my MINI needed attention prior to working on it. I wasn't sure what was needed, but I haven't had it serviced in over a year and the dealer was not an option for me -they're too expensive. I ended up getting engine leak fixed and clutch replacement and an overall diagnostic to prepare for future repairs. 5+ stars! Honesty goes a long way!! I'll be coming back.

Out of warranty German car owners need to know that there is hope. There is a shop out there with real PROS, that live and breath German cars, they know it inside out, like the back of their hands. Knowing what they worth and how much they save you, they are very honest, will never take advantage of or exploit a customer.

I took my baby there for front sway bar bushings replacement, after getting an crazy estimate at the dealer. I ended up getting a much better, much faster, much nice treatment.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: When I asked if I can, Shawn, the general manager, escorted me into the shop to take a look at my Mini being fixed, which you will never-ever experience at the dealership.

When I saw the bill, I had the biggest smile on my face, and all I could say is THANK YOU!!

There is usually soothing upbeat Jazz music playing in the background to project a calm environment. I had problems with my MINI Cooper-S air conditioning. They checked it out and refilled the coolant, and put a dye in so I can check for leaks in a few weeks. Because I'm traveling to southern states which is hot weather. Also gave me an oil change and a checkup before my trip (5/5 starts) Sure! I will return.

After reading the post, I was excited to visit them and also I was having Timing Chain rattling issue need to be diagnosed. On-board computer does not monitor chain condition. Mini was having grinding noise issues and wasn’t starting. I called my uncle who is a mechanic to come look at it. He told me it was a German car-issue, he could not handle and to take it into Desi Auto Care. It was the best advice my uncle gave me. Not only did they find the problem. While I was driving from Philadelphia Airport to Kennedy Hospital my '03 Mini Cooper S made a noise and I pulled over onto shoulder. I tried restarting the car to move and it wouldn't move, seems like transmission quit on me or something...Looked online, found Desi Auto Care Mini Cooper Specialist. Ryan explained every step and answered all my questions.

Ryan worked on my car and it was a phenomenal job! He showed me all the old parts that were taken out and what was causing the issues. He gives me 2 years/ 24,000 miles warranty on repair including labor and parts. For any work needed on German automobiles, these mechanics are good to go. Hey guys! I first took my Mini Cooper to Desi Auto Care in July for an "Inspection 2" aka major service in Mini Cooper parlance. Not only was the work done first class with all OEM parts, but the price of the service was very fair compared to other Mini Specialists. Second time brought the car last week for rear brakes, Catalytic Convertor and same deal.

Both times, Rachael was friendly - courteous and even offered to drive me to an from the PATCO train station. And I have peace of mind knowing that this shop has built a solid reputation that's reflected not only Google, but also on Mini Cooper web forums.

As long as i own out-of-warranty Mini Cooper, you're my mechanics!

I had the tires delivered to Desi Auto Care from TireTrack.com Leslie called me once they arrived and scheduled the install the next day. I dropped the car off and then they gave me a complimentary shuttle to the Route 561 in Voorhees to go to work. Everything went perfect and I couldn't be happier. Needed to get everything checked off my endless to-do list. Also to discuss the problem with the plastic around my front light that kept coming off. I was previously told by MINI dealer that it would cost about $900-1000 to fix (including the parts&labor).

I brought it to Sam and he quoted me at $237. His mechanic took time to check out my car and we scheduled. He told me that my car was intact and in that particular area everything was fixable. I also had a loose part by the door from opening/closing which he fixed while checking out my lights.

I am a pretty 'gullible' lady when it comes to Mini repairs, and in this case I felt safe with my choice.

Last month Drew at Desi Auto Care fixed the coolant leak on my Mini. Price was fair. He showed me exactly where the leak was. Back again for some work-clutch replacement and a breather hose. Feels like brand new! I drive out of my way (not by a little either...) to visit these guys. Hands down for 2 yrs warranty on parts & labor.

My car was leaking gas somewhere, as the odor of gas fumes was overwhelming in the cabin. After getting crazy quote from dealer I search online and found Sean and he did a great job diagnosing the issue, and keeping me updated. He even kept all the old parts, and thoroughly pointed out and explained why he had to replace them. I learned about o2 sensors, and other stuff that I've already forgotten. I would recommend Desi Auto Care to anybody in need of MINI service. Also, he was very fast. It was a fairly big job, and he had it done earliest.

Power steering went out without warning, causing loss of control while driving, Mini dealer advised it was still drivable, but to be cautious due to lack of control/power steering. When parked, smoke began from under hood. I wasn't satisfied with dealer's answer (because he recently sold me this car and they choose NOT to take a responsibility) Called Desi Auto Care and Shawn advised me not drive vehicle, as it was a safety hazard. Once he done diagnostics, he walked me through all the repairs need to be done, gave some recommendations, showed me the condition of all the old worn parts and took the time to answer any question I had. I approved the job and very happy with outcome.

My Mini Cooper check engine light was on (thermostats was stuck on) and brake fluid was too dark. After I demonstrated my urgent need to get those fixed ASAP. Mike at Desi Auto Care made a promise to arrange their schedule and finish in 4 hrs. His prices are always 50% cheaper compared to dealer. Then my engine light was off and by testing it with a 650 miles trip, it has not given me any problems!

My car accelerating and pedal felt as if air pressure was released. Immediately after the pesky check engine light came on. Although I had trouble in the first and second gear but at least it was drivable.

Took it to Ryan, who worked swiftly to figure out what the challenge was that kept triggering the light. Once diagnosed, he explored options for fixing it and suggested what he thought was best given cost consideration etc. He then fixed the issue, and I have no problems since.

During repair they called me twice and one email to keep me updated. Also educated me about typical MINI problems solution to them.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago the key fob detached from the key ring without me noticing while i was crossing a road; once i realized i had lost one part of my key i traced my steps back and i was lucky enough to find it in the middle of the street. Few cars had run over it but for 10 days after this happen all three lock/unlock buttons were working just fine. One by one then slowly stopped working.

When I went to Desi for headlight replacement, Rachael set me up with their locksmith who was specialized in this type of keys and saved me from expensive cost of dealer.

Ask for Rachael, she is very helpful!

It's my luck. After 60k miles things started to go wrong: Mini dealer told me I needed a new thermostat, sensor and other things...and wanted $1k ($985) for the repair. I said goodbye- and took it to an independent mechanic Desi Auto Care in Startford, and got the exact same job done for under $400. If you have the deep pockets then keep using dealer. Some times before dealer didn't cover my brakes while it was under warranty. I advise everyone about Extended Warranty offered by dealer-it's complete useless.

Used Mini purchased in January with few problems about service engine light ON, brakes making grinding noise and some dirty chemical leaking at bottom. Sean did not start replacing costly parts but he spreads good enough time to diagnose and only charge me when my repair is done. Also I fully authorized him to replace a costly fuel diagnostic pump but instead he took a closer look, found a crack in my exhaust and saving me serious amount of money by fixing the actual root cause.

His team is great at scheduling time for you (even though his parking lot always packed with German cars), and he always walks you though repairs very patiently.

Andrew even showed me another Mini that was on a lift to illustrate how the parts fit together, how they function and how they often fail. When I got it back then it was not the same car. It was a much faster, tighter steering, better sounding version!

I recently had a pretty major list of repairs/replacements done to 2004 Cooper at Desi Auto Care. (Clutch, flywheel, control arm bushings, strut tower, super charger pulley, valve cover gasket...) Shawn was patient and answered many many...questions on phone before I committed to sending my car.

72k miles on Mini the clutch started slipping. Replacing the clutch is a ten hours job. PA Mini dealership's quote $5,520 for parts-labor. After having contacting a few different shops, I found Desi. They did the clutch job + replaced my rear brakes and brake fluid. The total bill was 65% of what Mini-PA had quoted me. Mechanic also showed me the parts they had replaced. also repair was covered by 2yrs/24k miles warranty, parts-labor included. car looked spotless when I picked it up.

At 115300 miles, I needed a reset on oxygen sensor codes after replacing a catalytic converter (that had the traditional broken weld). They reset it and evaluated the condition of my Mini. Very informative and customer oriented. I'm going to continue with them even though I live farther up Central/North jersey.

My engine overheated and when trying to figure out where to repair my Mini, I called and talked to Desi Auto Care. they told me that they were pretty busy, and probably couldn't see it for a week. I asked if they could recommend anyone else, quickly they gave me a phone number for another shop #2.

I called that shop #2, they were kind of jerks and dishonest, and when I asked shop #2 for a recommendation, they told me they DON'T do that (unlike the guys at DESI who were just trying to help me out).

I decided a wait was worth taking it to DESI. Turn out the damage was pretty bad, they gave me assessment to fix. Repair was done on time. These guys are Mini lovers. I'm inclined to get another used Mini as my weekend car solely because I've found a mechanic I can trust.

I had been taking my R56 Mini to the dealership, which I know is overpriced, but I didn't want to risk an unknown mechanic. When I finally started the 1st round of major replacements (water pump, convertor etc) and was quoted at thousands by the dealer, I decided to shop around. These guys are really the only shop that seemed reputable enough to risk it and I'm so pleased that I did!

The prices were much better than the dealer, and the service was much better. They gave me a more detailed explanation of each of my issues, and the were very thorough in the repairs. There are not as many cushy fringe benefits as the dealer, Desi Auto Care is definitely a Good++ Mini repair shop.

It's my first car and once my warranty expired, I'll admit, I was terrified of maintenance costs. But it started puttering when I would shift gears. Found online Desi Auto Care , they broke down every charge and explained why it was necessary. I even took my boyfriend with me because as a 23 yr young woman, I felt sure that they would rip me off (sorry mechanics, one bad apple spoils the bunch). They were amazing to explaining it all and only repaired what REALLY NEEDED. I just picked up my car and it feels as good as it did when it had 22 miles on it. The clutch is tighter, even my handling and braking feels like it has better reaction time. My go-kart is back to being a go-kart instead of a rattling hunk of material.

My mini has many problems since the day we bought it. I have always believed it was a LEMON, Mini dealer would not do anything about it, especially after the warranty ran out! Mid Aug. took my mini to dealer for some maintenance (power steering fluid...) and they quickly provided me with need to fix list of problems that--just had to be fixed immediately--Something did not seem right with the $4500 quote I received.

So I took the car (and the list) to Desi - technicians thoroughly inspected the car and rules out many of the unnecessary/costly repairs, but told me which items really need to be fixing. For example, Mini said I needed to replace many of the oil o-rings and gaskets and Desi said that actually the dealer was careless in changing the oil and had spilled oil all over the engine compartment, making it appear that there was a leak. Im thankful for their honest opinion.

Love Shawn! Straight shooter, the real deal.

You will not find anyone who knows more about Mini's than Shawn. He is cool, always helps his customers.

I bought my Mini to him because it had warning lights due to broken brake sensor. He gave me ice-cold soda and pretzels while my mini was being repaired. He also trouble-shooted the speaker system in my car, while the other technician worked on the brakes. I was out of his in about 35 minutes.

My advice, if you own Mini, visit him once (even though you do NOT need repair) You'll thank me.

I moved to NJ in March. When I lived in VA I had a very reputable MINI Dealership work on my car without issues. I expected the same quality service I received from my previous dealership to translate to the local MINI dealership in NJ.Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about them other than run for your MINI's life.

I had a coolant leak on my 2012 MINI Cooper S, I was afraid to deal with them yet again. Upon researching shops I found Desi Auto Care. Sean is awesome. He was very helpful and provided so much information. Showed me all the parts that were replaced and sent me pictures of the process. I trust this shop with my Mini and I have nothing bad to say about them.

1st time here with scheduled appointment. Elliott quickly diagnosed a faulty radiator and lower radiator pipe - showed me where the leaks were coming from - and quoted me a fair price (lower than repairpal's minimum estimate). Picked up my car next noon and was shown the busted parts. Pure professional operation. They give me 2 years warranty on my "chick car" repair. I'm keeping my Mini forever, because it's easy to park.

I have been bringing my Mini here for almost a year. I had an experience where my car literally wouldn't run. I thought I was in for a very expansive fix. Turns out the vacuum hose separated itself from the manifold. I simply need a clip replaced. My total bill was $22. If they were a dishonest shop, this would have been the perfect time to take advantage of a customer.

Half the time he tells me what my car needs, but suggests I don't do it for another 6 or 9 months. I believe honesty comes first with Sean. In this day, what is that worth?

(Parts & labor included with two years warranty on all repairs.)

DEAR OTHER SHOPS - please be aware this is the way to do business.

2008 Mini Cooper S is manual and at 65k miles the clutch started slipping. On a Mini replacing the clutch is a 10 hours job. The Princeton Mini dealership quoted $5,640 for parts and labor. Now that's insane. I'll be taking my slipping clutch elsewhere thank you very much.

After calling three different shops, I felt like I had found the right place. Shawn is knowledgeable and completely free of BS. He turned the clutch job around + replaced my rear brake and brake fluid. The total bill was 60% off what Mini dealer had quoted me.

The car looked spotless when I picked it up. Shawn also showed me the parts they had replaced.

Reason for going to Desi Auto Care was getting my driver's side motor fixed and for the 85K in my 2002 Mini. My car was already at 94K and Sean spent a good while (both on the phone and in person) helping me weighs my options between getting 85K vs 100K service - ended opting for 100K service. The prices are very reasonable - I called several places to compare.

They also went the extra mile - they fixed a loose piece of plastic paneling on the passenger side of my car that was causing some very annoying wind noise. They also noticed that my airbag light was on (I had been ignoring it for months) and told me that it was actually an issue that is still under warranty (so I can get it fixed at the dealer for free).

Boo for not being open on Sundays, but only a few blocks from Linden-wold PATCO Railway Station in case dropping off the car means you need to take the train.

I vacuumed under my seats and disconnected the wiring to do so, thus causing an obnoxious air bag light to come on. Called the mini dealership, who couldn't fix it until end of the next week. They quoted $275 (Just to diagnose)

Mind you, it takes a solid 60 seconds to reset the alert.

Called Desi Auto Care who got me in same day and fix it within 5 minutes of showing up. Sam even refused payment and happily offers me free snacks & drinks!

Much better than being bent over by the dealership.
